The University of Richmond women's swimming and diving program blends a mixture of excitement and potential. Over the past few years, the University and its athletic department have helped the program begin a journey to a new level.
The developments in our program are very exciting. Our incoming recruiting classes are bigger - and better - than ever before. In addition, our program provides the student-athlete the opportunity to be competitive athletically and excel in a rigorous, nationally recognized academic environment.
In the spirit of academic and athletic excellence, we have broadened our recruiting efforts to identify those swimmers and divers who seek athletic and academic challenges. As a program, we believe that the collegiate experience is built upon a foundation of educational enrichment, athletic enhancement and individual growth. That is why I believe that Richmond is the perfect fit for the swimmer or diver seeking to have an impact within the athletic program. We are looking for student-athletes willing to dedicate themselves to something special over the course of their collegiate career.
Over the years, athletic excellence and Spiders swimming and diving have been synonymous. I have been fortunate to coach individual conference champions, relay champions, Spider Club "Athletes of the Year," a President's Academic Award winner and conference rookie-of-the-year honorees. To reach this level of success our student-athletes train in the Robins Center pool under the supervision of three swimming and diving coaches. In addition, the program enjoys the use of a state-of-the-art weight room as well as meeting rooms and video/film rooms.
The foundation has been built for Richmond swimming and diving to rise to the next level. Review your collegiate needs and priorities. Becoming a Spider could be the next great step for you.
