Brandolini and Popham Tabbed For Post-Season Honors

UNIVERSITY OF RICHMOND, Va. - University of Richmond junior attacker Jessica Popham (Arnold, Md./Severn School) and sophomore attacker Alexis Brandolini (West Chester, Pa./Notre Dame Academy) have been named Second Team All-Colonial Athletic Association as voted upon by the league's seven head coaches and released by the conference office on Thursday, April 13.
Popham, a tri-captain on this years' squad, registered 19 goals and a team-high nine assists on the season. She scored a season-high three goals and three assists versus Holy Cross on March 3. The junior led the Spiders with 28 points this season. Popham has tallied 32 goals in two seasons as a Spider.
An offensive threat, Brandolini posted 18 goals and four assists on the season. In addition, the redshirt sophomore has 26 ground balls on the year and was third on the team in draw controls. Brandolini scored a season-high three goals in a March 22nd win over CAA rival American.
University of Richmond freshman goalkeeper Kelly Johnson (Crownsville, Md./Old Mill) was named to the 2000 CAA Women's Lacrosse Championship All-Tournament Team. Johnson, the only freshman named to the All-Tournament Squad, posted a tournament high 21 saves in the Spiders 10-5 loss to George Mason University in the quarterfinals of the 2000 CAA Lacrosse Championships. The freshman started every contest in the crease this season. She recorded 193 saves in 15 games, third on Richmond's all-time list. Johnson's 54.2 save percentage was ranked 30th in the country in 2000 and the eighth highest for a freshman. Johnson was also selected to the Mid-Atlantic Third Team.
