
Post Season Awards In Women's Lacrosse

RICHMOND, Va. --- University of Richmond junior attacker Carrie Aitken (Paxton, Mass./St. Mark's School) and senior attacker Alexis Brandolini (Berwyn, Pa./Notre Dame Academy) have been named to the All-Colonial Athletic Association second team as voted upon by the league's seven head coaches.
Aitken has registered a team-best 28 goals so far this season with two games remaining on the Spiders schedule. She scored four goals in Richmond's win over then sixteenth-ranked George Mason and three goals in the Spiders victory over Howard on Friday. The junior leads Richmond with 32 points through games of April 20. She has scored at least one goal in every game this season. Aitken has 77 netters in three seasons placing her fourth on Richmond's all-time career list.
This is the second straight season Brandolini has earned second-team honors. The senior captain from Berwyn, Pa. has recorded 20 goals and seven assists this season, second-best on the team. Brandolini scored a career-high four goals versus George Mason on April 10.
The Spiders will next face Fairfield on Monday, April 23. The game is being played at Delaware.
