The University of Richmond's home football contest Saturday November 3rd vs. Hofstra has been changed to a Noon start. The game will be televised live by Madison Square Garden (MSG) Network.
The men's away basketball game at Wake Forest, originially scheduled for Thanksgiving Weekend, has been moved to Wednesday January 2nd, 2002 beginning at 7pm.
The Spiders appearance on MSG will reach viewers in New York City, New York State, Southern Connecticut (including Hartford), Northern and Central New Jersey and Northern Pennsylvania.
MSG reaches approximately eight million households.
Other Spider football games to air on television are: September 29 vs. Villanova at UR Stadium (A-10 Network, Comcast SportsNet), October 6 at Maine (WABI TV, Bangor) and November 10th at Delaware (CN 8 - covering Southern New Jersey, Southeastern Pennsylvania, Delaware and Northern Maryland). There are negotiations to televise the Delaware game into the Richmond market, as well.
The men's basketball date at Wake Forest was shifted to January 2nd because the Demon Deacons are participating in the PreSeason NIT and the ACC-Big Ten Challenge. The Spiders have filled the November date with a game at Alabama-Birmingham of Conference USA. The game is scheduled for Saturday November 24th at 9:30pm ET.
The Atlantic 10 portion of the men's basketball schedule should be available in September.
