Swimming Defeats James Madison, 162-138

UNIVERSITY OF RICHMOND, Va. -- The University of Richmond swimming and diving team defeated James Madison, 162-138, today in the Robins Center Natatorium.
Individual winners for Richmond included: Elizabeth Cook in the 200-yard freestyle (1:54.83) and the 200-yard backstroke (2:06.62), Maureen Sabri in the 50-yard freestyle (24.64) and the 100-yard freestyle (53.69), Christina Erickson in the 3-meter dive (229.43), Mary Adams in the 200-yard breaststroke, Kristin Newkirk in the 100-yard butterfly (59.12) and Katie Shipe in the 1-meter dive (266.55).
Two Spider relay teams also won. The 200-yard medley relay team of Kristin Cavanah, Leslie Moatz, Kristin Newkirk and Kimberly Green finished in 1:50.63, while the 400-yard freestyle relay team of Elizabeth Cook, Maureen Sabri and Mary Adams touched the wall in 3:33.56.
Richmond returns to action at 4 p.m. on January 30 against George Washington in the Robins Center.
