Field Hockey Makes Mark in National Statistics

UNIVERSITY OF RICHMOND, Va. - The University of Richmond field hockey team has earned rankings in several national catagories and has two players ranked for individual accomplishments.
With their overall record of 12-6, the Spiders are ranked 12th with a winning percentage of .667. Richmond is only allowing an average of 1.28 goals per game (13th in the nation) while scoring 2.30 goals per game (20th), which gives them a margin of victory of 1.02 (15th).
Senior Jill Murphy (Williamsburg, Va.) ranks second in the nation in assists with 17 and freshman goalie Michelle Swartz (Severna Park, Md.) is thirteenth with a GAA of 1.285.
The Spiders are also receiving votes in the STX/NFHCA Division I Coaches Poll. In the latest poll, Richmond was listed among "also receiving votes" with nine.
