KINGSTON, R.I. -- The University of Richmond saw its four match winning streak snapped as Rhode Island posted a 2-0 decision on Friday evening at the URI Soccer Complex.
Sarah Johnston opened the scoring for Rhode Island, putting in a pass from freshman Melanie Kasparek in the 8th minute. The Rams struck again shortly when senior captain Heather Kasparek notched her 11th goal of the season. Her younger twin sisters, Melanie and Megan Kasparek each tallied assists on the play.
Rhode Island out shot Richmond by a 14-6 margin in the victory. Junior keeper Megan Cox (Raleigh, N.C.) posted seven stops in net for the Spiders.
Richmond falls to 10-5-2, 7-3-0 in conference action.
