UNIVERSITY OF RICHMOND, Va. - The University of Richmond men's and women's basketball teams open their 2002-2003 seasons in a double-header on Friday, November 22 at the Robins Center. In the first game, the women, under first-year head coach Joanne Boyle, take on Delaware at 5:00 p.m. In head coach Jerry Wainwright's debut at Richmond, the men will face Radford at 7:30.
Richmond men's basketball begins its 89th year of Basketball on Friday, November 22, hosting the Radford Highlanders. The Spiders lead the all-times series with their intra-state rivals, 15-1. Richmond returns four starters to the floor in 2002-2003 and a host of talented newcomers.
The Spiders women's basketball program takes to the court returning eight players from last year's squad and welcoming five newcomers. This marks the fourth match-up between the two schools, with Delaware holding a 2-1 advantage.
The men's game will be broadcast on WRNL 910 AM while the women's game can be heard via the Richmond website.
