Purcell Tabbed A-10 Player of the Week

UNIVERSITY OF RICHMOND, Va. --- University of Richmond sophomore Polly Purcell (Ellicott City, Md./Mt. Hebron) earned Atlantic 10 Women's Lacrosse Player of the Week honors for the week ending April 14. It is the second time this season Purcell has earned the accolade.
A native of Ellicott City, Md., Purcell netted ten goals and dished out three assists in two Richmond road victories this past weekend. Purcell tallied six goals, dished out three assists and picked up four ground balls in the Spiders' 18-10 win over St. Bonaventure (April 14). In a 17-5 win over Duquesne on Apr. 12, she scored four goals and picked up four ground balls.
Purcell has 54 points on the season, a new program-best. Her 22 assists have tied the school's single season record. Purcell is ranked first in the A-10 in assists in second in points.
The Spiders (9-5, 4-1 A-10), winners of four straight, continue their A-10 slate on Sunday, April 21 traveling to Philadelphia for a noon contest versus La Salle.
