RICHMOND, Va. (AP) - Jeff Myers scored a career-high 19 points, and Richmond held Temple to 12 first-half points en route to a 61-42 win on Saturday.
Temple (3-10, 1-2 Atlantic 10) last scored so few first-half points against Massachusetts on Feb. 1, 1996. On Saturday, the Owls were held scoreless for the first 11:06 of the first half before Antywane Robinson hit a field goal.
The Owls made 6 of 26 field goals in the half, and missed all 10 3-point attempts.
"Our team of young kids can't find themselves married to each other," Temple coach John Chaney said. "We have too many freshmen in wrong places. What might be a good thing is for Temple to fire me. Then I'd get some rest. I'm not going to quit so they're going to have to fire me."

Richmond (8-5, 2-0) used 40 percent shooting in the first half to open a 15-point lead at halftime. The Spiders stretched the lead to as many as 21 in the second half.
Mike Skrocki added 17 points for Richmond, which tied a school record for fewest personal fouls in the game with six. Temple only attempted three free throws in the game, missing two.
"We wanted to come out and establish our defense," Richmond coach Jerry Wainwright said. "We've learned some tough lessons this year. You can't worry about your offense. You must play your defense."
David Hawkins led the Owls with 10 points.
