Women's Basketball Hosts on Xavier

UNIVERSITY OF RICHMOND, Va. - The Richmond women's basketball team hosts Xavier University on Friday, January 17, at 7:00 p.m. in the Robins Center. The Spiders are coming off last weekend's televised 72-49 win over St. Bonaventure. Richmond's record stands at 11-3, 2-1 in conference play, while Xavier is 10-4, 2-1 in Atlantic 10 games. The game will be broadcast on Sports Radio WRNL and via the internet at www.RichmondSpiders.com.
The contest marks the third meeting between the two schools with Richmond holding a 2-0 advantage. The Spiders won both regular-season games last year, their first season competing in the Atlantic 10 conference. In the first meeting, Richmond recorded a 93-73 win over the visiting Musketeers and then defeated Xavier 83-71 in Ohio.
The Spiders are currently leading the conference in scoring offense (74.1), scoring margin (+14.0), field goal percentage (.475), assists (19.21) and steals (12.36).
