Spider Swimmer Earns Third A-10 Accolade

UNIVERSITY OF RICHMOND, Va. - Freshman Brooke Boncher (West Newbury, Mass.) earned her third Atlantic 10 Rookie of the Week citation after her performances over the weekend. Boncher previously received A-10 Rookie of the Week for the weeks of November 18 and November 25.
Boncher closed out the weekend by setting Columbia's Uris pool record in the 100-yard butterfly. The previous record of 57.08 fell to Boncher's time of 56.90. In the 100-yard freestyle the Spider freshman propelled to first place in a time of 52.81. She also completed the 400-yard freestyle relay as the fourth leg in a first-place 3:34.15 finish at Columbia.
Prior to her performance at Columbia, Boncher helped the Spiders trounce Wagner. She placed first in the 200-yard freestyle (1:55.52) and second behind teammate Mary Adams in the 500-yard freestyle (5:06.68). Boncher started the meet as the third leg of the winning 400-yard medley rely team (3:57.95).
