Men's Basketball Bounces La Salle, 62-55

PHILADELPHIA (AP) - Tony Dobbins scored 13 of his 15 points in the second half as Richmond defeated La Salle 62-55 Saturday.
Jeff Myers and Jamaal Scott had 13 points each for Richmond (11-6, 2-0 Atlantic 10), while Steve Smith had 20 points and nine rebounds for the Explorers (8-8, 2-4) who committed 21 turnovers.
The Spiders led 31-24 at the half, and twice led by 12 points before La Salle closed to within 56-50 with 3:20 left. Myers and Johnathan Collins each made two free throws around a 3-point shot by La Salle's Gary Neal to ensure the victory.
The Spiders, who only trailed at 11-10, led 19-18 with seven minutes left in the first half, but a 3-pointer by Scott ignited a 9-2 run that put them up 28-20.
La Salle plays five freshman and three sophomores. Neal, the leading scorer with a 17.5 average, made only two of 10 shots and was just 1-of-8 from 3-point range.
