UNIVERSITY OF RICHMOND, Va. - After opening the 2003 season with four of its first five games on the road, the Richmond football team returns to UR Stadium at 1 p.m. on Saturday to begin a three-game home stretch.
This Saturday's opponent is New Hampshire (2-5, 0-4 Atlantic 10) who is also looking for its first Atlantic 10 win this season. The last time these two teams met at UR Stadium, the Spiders earned a 27-17 win on Sept. 25, 1999. Richmond (0-5, 0-4 A-10) hold an 8-7 advantage in the all-time series.
Spider athletics welcomes Special Olympics Virginia and ASK (Association for the Support of Children with Cancer) to this weekend's game. Coach Jim Reid and his program have formed a positive relationship with both organizations during the past few years.
Next weekend is Homecoming at Richmond. The Spiders invite VMI for a 3 p.m. game on Saturday, Oct. 18.

THIS WEEK'S STORYLINES
* Strength against Strength. Richmond's pass defense is ranked No. 2 in the Atlantic 10, allowing just 159.8 yards per game. New Hampshire's pass offense is ranked second, gaining 238.3 per game.
* Four of the last five games in this series have been played in Durham. The Spiders and Wildcats return to UR Stadium for the first time since Sept. 25, 1999 when Richmond captured a 27-17 win. The last time UNH won in Richmond was Nov. 5, 1994, a 42-14 victory. Richmond has won the last two meetings at UR Stadium.
* Richmond (0-4) and New Hampshire (0-4) are two of the three winless teams during A-10 conference play. William & Mary (0-3) is the other.
* The Spiders had to wait until Oct. 18 for their second home game. You think that is tough, in 2001 the Spiders' second home game came on Oct. 27.
* Bryson Spinner has thrown for 200+ yards in each of his last three games. He set season highs in completions (27), attempts (40) and yards (247) last Saturday at James Madison.
* Senior wideout Boyd Ouden has made eight catches in each of the past two games. He ranks ninth in the Atlantic 10 with 4.80 receptions per game.
* In four of Richmond's five games, the Spider defense has been led by a player that recorded 13 tackles. Richmond has been led in tackles by a different player in all five games.
