UNIVERSITY OF RICHMOND, Va. - The University of Richmond women's lacrosse team competed at three tournaments, in addition to hosting their second annual Alumni Game at Lacrosse Field, during their fall season.
"It was a very successful fall season competing against some great teams. Our success this fall should give us the confidence to excel this spring. Although injury has plagued us a bit, it was very rewarding to see the depth of this team fill those voids and still win games," head coach Sue Murphy commented.
The Spiders competed in tournaments at Duke, James Madison and George Mason and compiled a 7-1-4 mark. Richmond defeated two teams that ended last season in the Top 20 in Duke and James Madison, and also topped Stanford, William & Mary, Hofstra, Davidson and Rutgers.
"Now we focus on individual work, lifting & maintaining conditioning and getting healthy," Murphy said.
Special thanks to the former Spiders who came back to play in the Alumni Game.
