Women's Soccer Falls To La Salle

UNIVERSITY OF RICHMOND, Va.-Sophomore Kelly Kolker (McLean, Va.) earned her first start of the season and registered three saves this afternoon as the University of Richmond women's soccer team fell to La Salle this afternoon in Philadelphia, Pa. The Spiders fall to 9-7-1 overall and 7-2-1 in the conference, while the Explorers improve to 3-12-1 overall and a conference mark of 3-7.
La Salle's Krista Lee took the pass from the right side of the goal, from teammate Ashley Cassel, and shot the ball to the far left post, under the diving arms of Kolker to net her sixth goal of the season and score the only goal of the game in the 31st minute.
Richmond outshot the Explorers 15-6. Senior keeper Megan Cox (Raleigh, N.C.) did enter the game in the 58th minute, however that was after Kolker suffered an injury. Explorer's keeper Marisa Suarez made five saves in the contest to record her third shutout of the season.
The Spiders face Fordham at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 2nd.
