William & Mary Spoils Football's Senior Day

RICHMOND, Va. - William & Mary used a 35-point second half to increase a 10-point halftime lead and race away with a 59-21 decision against Richmond in the 113th all-time meeting between these storied programs.
The Tribe's Marques Bobo returned a punt for a touchdown at the 12:45 mark of the first quarter and the shootout was on. An 11-yard touchdown pass from Stacy Tutt to Jake Schools pulled the game even with 5:50 to play in the opening stanza.
Tutt finished the day with a career-high 226 passing yards on 18-of-33 throwing. His second touchdown of the quarter was a 71-yard strike to senior Boyd Ouden that again tied the game, this time 14-14. Ouden finished his final game in a Spider uniform with six catches for 114 yards.
William & Mary scored 10 second-quarter points to go into the locker room with a 24-14 advantage. Consecutive touchdowns from Lang Campbell's arm pushed the lead to 38-14 before senior David Edwards scampered 21 yards for the Spiders' final score of the season with 20 seconds remaining in the third. Edwards finished the day with a team-high 52 yards rushing.
The Tribe ended any threat of a rally with a 21-point fourth quarter. The second touchdown came on a 77-yard interception return by James Miller, his second pick of the afternoon.
With the loss, Richmond falls to 2-9 this season, 1-8 in the Atlantic 10. William & Mary completes its season at 5-5, 4-4 in conference.
