Swimming's Boncher Adds More Accolades

UNIVERSITY OF RICHMOND, Va. - Freshman standout swimmer Brooke Boncher added another award to her list with CollegeSwimming.com's Swimmer of the Week. This is Boncher's second time receiving the award from the web-based publication. She previously earned the award for the week of Jan. 13-19.
The West Newbury, Mass. native has also earned Atlantic 10 Rookie of the Week for the weeks of November 18, November 25, January 20, and February 3. Along with her February 3rd Rookie of the Week accolade, Boncher received Atlantic 10 Performer of the Week.
Taking three records on the year, Boncher has etched her name as the mark to beat in the 50-yard freestyle (23.52), 100-yard freestyle (50.92), and 200-yard butterfly (2:05.32). The freestyler also left her mark at Columbia's Uris pool setting the record for the 100-yard butterfly (56.90).
Boncher and the Spiders will return to the pool at the Atlantic 10 swimming and diving championships February 20 through 22 in Buffalo, N.Y.
