BUFFALO, N.Y. - The University of Richmond broke four Atlantic 10 records and holds an 85-point lead after Day One at the 2003 Atlantic 10 Swimming & Diving Championships in Buffalo, N.Y.
The Spiders won four of the six events held tonight, with all four of their victories - 200-yard freestyle relay, 400-yard medley relay, 200-yard IM and 50-yard freestyle - establishing new conference records.
Sophomore Mary Adams continued her stellar career by setting a new pool record in the 200-yard IM (2:02.56). She also contributed to another A-10 record, when she teamed with freshman Brooke Boncher, junior Maureen Sabri and senior Elizabeth Cook on the 200-yard freestyle relay title (1:33.94).
The trio of Adams, Boncher and Cook added junior Brooke Boncher on the evening. Boncher also won the 50-yard freestyle after touching the wall at 23.32, an NCAA B qualifying time.
