COLLEGE PARK, Md. - The third-seeded University of Richmond women's tennis team defeated sixth-seeded Fordham, 4-1, this afternoon to advance to the semi-finals of the 2003 Atlantic 10 Championship. With the win, the Spiders improve to 8-8 on the season. Richmond faces the winner of #2 Temple/#7 Duquesne on Friday, April 18 at 10:30 a.m.
Richmond won in straight sets at the #3, 4, 5 and 6 positions to earn four points in singles action. Doubles matches were not played.
