Women's Lacrosse Receives Atlantic 10 Honors

UNIVERSITY OF RICHMOND, Va. - Senior Kristy Gallagher (Chatsworth, N.J.) and junior Polly Purcell (Ellicott City, Md.) were selected to the Atlantic 10 Women's Lacrosse All-Conference Team as announced this evening by the league.
Gallagher, the 2002 co-Defensive Player of the Year, started all 16 games for the Spiders this year. She leads the team in caused turnovers with 29 and has recorded 20 ground balls. Gallagher has scored 17 goals and added three assists for 20 points on the season.
Purcell, a repeat honoree to the All-Conference squad, leads Richmond with 41 goals and 24 assists. She ranks second in both ground balls (37) and caused turnovers (20). Purcell paces the conference with 65 points and ranks ninth in the country in points per game with 4.06 per outing.
The third-seeded Spiders face second-seed Massachusetts at 2:00 p.m. in first round action of the Atlantic 10 Championships.
