Women's Lacrosse Receives Regional Honor

UNIVERSITY OF RICHMOND, Va. - University of Richmond junior Polly Purcell (Ellicott City, Md.) was named to the 2003 Brine IWLCA/US Lacrosse Division I All-South Region second team as announced this afternoon by the committee.
An two-time Atlantic 10 All-Conference selection, Purcell led the team in both goals (44) and assists (24) while starting all 17 contests. Purcell finished the season tied for third in the conference with 68 points after helping lead the Spiders to a 10-7 record. Earning three league Player of the Week citations, the attack's 4.0 points per game tied for tenth in the nation.
The All-American Team will be announced next week.
