Women's Lacrosse Announces Schedule

UNIVERSITY OF RICHMOND, Va. - The University of Richmond women's lacrosse team has announced a challenging 2005 schedule that includes four teams that advanced to last year's NCAA Tournament. The Spiders will open the season participating in the South of the Border Tournament before playing 14 regular season contests.
In the spring, Richmond will face five teams that ended 2004 ranked among the Top 20, including the Spiders' season-opener against #3 Maryland. Throughout the season, Richmond will also take on #7 Duke, #16 William & Mary, #2 Virginia and #18 Towson.
Opponents that competed in last year's NCAA Tournament include Maryland, Duke, Virginia and Temple.
The Spiders face seven conference opponents in George Washington, Duquesne, St. Bonaventure, Temple, Saint Joseph's, La Salle and Massachusetts.
An additional contest against UMBC will be added to the schedule.
Last season, the Spiders compiled a 7-9 overall record and were ranked in the IWLCA Top 20 poll for several weeks.
