Women's Golf Tied For Fifth After Two Rounds

SOUTHERN PINES, N.C. - The Richmond women's golf team improved by seven strokes in the second round and moved into a tie for fifth at the Ross Resorts Invitational after carding a 633 (320-313) on the first day at the Mid Pines Golf Club. Freshman Natasha Lopez led the Spiders and is tied for third with a 154 (76-78) at the par-72 course.
Classmate Ally Caffrey rebounded from a first-round 82 with a team-low 73 in the second round to slip into the top-10 with a 155 and a tie for eighth.
Junior Lauren Ritter fired a 158 (80-78) and is tied for 20th, while sophomore Ashley Lambert (82-84--166) and Lesley Monachino (83-84--167) also competed for the Spiders.
Baylor leads the event heading into tomorrow's final round with a 620 (315-305). Birmingham Southern's Shelley McGraw sits atop the leaderboard with a 152 (79-73).
