Richmond Falls to Delaware, 23-14

RICHMOND, Va. (AP) - Omar Cuff ran for 115 yards and Sonny Riccio threw for 153 as Delaware took advantage of four Richmond fumbles in a 24-14 victory over the Spiders on Saturday.
The Blue Hens, ranked 11th in Division 1-AA, scored two touchdowns and a field goal after recovering Richmond fumbles. They were stopped at the Richmond 1 after the other turnover.
Delaware (7-3, 6-1 Atlantic 10) dominated the first half, taking a 20-0 lead. Cuff scored on a 1-yard run in the first quarter, Riccio connected with Joe Bleymaier for a 12-yard score early in the second, and Brad Shushman kicked two field goals in the final 1:46 of the half.
The Spiders (3-7, 2-5) scored on their first possession of the third quarter after a 40-yard punt return by Ryan Mace. David Freeman scored from the 11 on the first play from scrimmage.
The Spiders pulled to 20-14 when Stacy Tutt connected with Freeman on a 25-yard score with 14:15 remaining in the game. The Spiders fumbled on their own 27 with 12:49 remaining, and Shushman kicked a 27-yard field goal to make it 23-14.
Riccio was 15-of-25, connecting six times with Bleymaier for 77 yards.
Freeman led the Spiders with 97 yards on 15 carries, and Tutt was 18-of-27 for 188 yards.
The Blue Hens controlled the ball for 41:02, running 88 plays to Richmond's 53.
