Swimming and Diving Begins Terrapin Cup Day One Prelims

Richmond's swimming and diving team took to the water for the final time in 2004 today in College Park, Md., at the Terrapin Cup. Preliminary races in day one are complete and posted below. Final times and a recap of Day One will be available after tonight's evening session.
During today's morning session junior Brooke Boncher set a new school record and automatically qualified for the NCAA Championships with a 50 free time of 22.68. Boncher previously held the Spider record of 22.88.
Senior Mary Adams also recorded an NCAA "B" cut time in the 200 IM with a time of 2:04.19, third-fastest in school history.
The 200 free and 400 free relays as well as the 500 free, 200 IM and 50 free individual finals will begin at 6 p.m. this evening. All the action is taking place in Maryland's Campus Recreation Center Natatorium.
