RICHMOND, Va. (AP) - Mike Skrocki scored eight of his 10 points during a game-opening 23-8 run and Richmond cruised to a 66-50 victory against La Salle on Saturday night, the Spiders' eighth victory in 10 games.
Tony Dobbins matched his season-high of 20 points and added four steals for the Spiders (16-10, 8-5 Atlantic 10), who led 33-23 at halftime and by at least five the rest of the way. Richmond had a season-high 14 steals and forced 22 turnovers.
Mike Cleaves led the Explorers (10-15, 5-7) with 20 points and Gary Neal, who came in averaging 19.5 points, was held to five. Steve Smith scored 14 for La Salle.
Reggie Brown added 12 points for Richmond, which avenged a 66-55 loss at La Salle on Jan. 10. In that game, the Spiders managed just five first-half field goals.
