The 2004 Richmond men's basketball senior class has a little bit of everything, including the most post-season wins of any group in Spider basketball history (4). Prolific scorers, harassing defenders and bruising rebounders have combined for 95 victories and five winning seasons during their tenure.
Reggie Brown, Tony Dobbins, Mike Skrocki and Eric Zwayer have been thrilling Richmond fans since 1999 and have contributed to five program records.
This quartet has been to the post-season every winter of their collegiate careers, expecting another trip this March, and has won 63 percent of the time they took the court. The percentile is even more impressive in the Robins Center where this senior class has won 71 percent of their home games.
Four of the classiest men in college basketball, these four seniors have been instrumental in this historic season.
Reggie Brown
One of the most natural, pure shooters to play at Richmond, Reggie Brown is second all-time with 223 three pointers. In 122 career games, Brown ranks 16th on the all-time scoring list with 1,321 points (10.8 ppg). The Flushing, N.Y. native led the Spiders in scoring with 14.4 ppg as a junior but has been hindered by a back injury each of the past two seasons. The guard has compiled 271 assists and 127 steals during his career.
Tony Dobbins
Known throughout the college basketball world as one of the toughest defenders, Tony Dobbins is chasing the all-time steals record, just 15 behind Greg Beckwith. The Mitchellville, Md. native needs 24 points to reach 1,000 for his Spider career, making him only the 13th player to reach the milestone while playing less than four years at Richmond. The guard has scored 1,101 career points including his freshman season at Virginia Tech.
Mike Skrocki
The 15th highest scorer in Spider basketball history, Mike Skrocki has led Richmond in scoring each of the past two seasons and has compiled 1,336 points in 122 career games (11.0). The forward has reached double-figures in all 28 games this season and is ninth in the Atlantic 10 with a 16.3 scoring average. A native of Howell, N.J., Skrocki ranks third in career free throw percentage (81.4) three pointers made (207) at Richmond.
Eric Zwayer
A force in the paint who consistently scores around the hoop and with a mid-range jumper, Eric Zwayer has averaged 6.2 points and 3.9 rebounds in 109 career games. Although hampered by injuries throughout his career, Zwayer has given maximum effort in the 18.2 minutes per game he competed. The Sebring, Fla. native has been a consistent free throw shooter (69.9 percent) and has a career field goal percentage of 51.3.
