Women's Lacrosse Continues Conference Play

UNIVERSITY OF RICHMOND, Va. - The University of Richmond women's lacrosse team returns to action this weekend when they face Atlantic 10 opponents St. Bonaventure and Duquesne. The Spiders take on the Bonnies on Friday at 4 p.m. before facing the Dukes on Sunday at 1 p.m.
Richmond (6-6, 2-1) was last in action on Sunday afternoon, suffering a 12-7 loss to #4 Duke. Senior Polly Purcell leads the Spiders with 30 goals and sophomore Allison Nuzzi has recorded a team-best 20 assists. Nuzzi currently ranks tenth in the nation in assists per game (1.67) and second in the league.
Purcell paces the conference in ground balls per game (3.75) and is ninth in the country. The Spiders rank sixth in that nation in draw controls with 13.25.
The Bonnies (4-4, 1-2) fell to Colgate 10-8 on Tuesday night. Kelly Chevez leads the team with 18 goals and 18 assists.
Duquesne (8-3, 2-1) last recorded a 15-3 win over Stony Brook in which 11 different players scored goals. The Dukes are led by Ginger Flocco's 38 goals and 16 assists. Nationally, they rank in the Top 20 in five different statistic categories.
