Women's Golf In Second After Day One

MIDLOTHIAN, Va. - Sophomore Lauren Ritter and freshman Lauren Brown both shot a 78 in today's CAA Championship first round and are tied for fifth in the 54-hole event. The Spiders stand in second after a first-round 317 at the par-72 Salisbury Country Club.
Last year's CAA Freshman of the Year, Elizabeth Cushing, fired a first-round 80 and is tied for 10th. Sophomore Lesley Monachino is one shot back of Cushing and tied for 13th. Freshman Ashley Lambert is tied for 19th after carding an 82 on Sunday.
James Madison leads the event after shooting a 307 in the first round. The Dukes' Jayme Langford and Kiley Bishop sit atop the leaderboard after carding a 75 this morning.
The second round will be played on Monday with the final round on Tuesday. The Spiders tee off at 8:50 a.m. tomorrow.
