Women's Lacrosse Hosts Two Weekend Contests

UNIVERSITY OF RICHMOND, Va. - The University of Richmond women's lacrosse team will host two games this weekend, facing Massachusetts on Friday at 3 p.m. and then taking on #4 Duke on Sunday at 2 p.m. Both games will be played at Lacrosse Field.
The Spiders (5-5, 1-1) were last in action on Tuesday afternoon as they held off American 9-7. Freshman Ashley Friend recorded her fourth hat trick of the season with a three-goal performance.
In A-10 statistics, senior Polly Purcell ranks third in the league in goals per game while sophomore Allison Nuzzi is tied for second in assists. Purcell and classmate Libby Berlacher hold the top two spots for ground balls per game.
Massachusetts is coming off its second win of the season, a 12-11 overtime victory over Duquesne.
The #4 Blue Devils have defeated five nationally-ranked opponents this season.
