Women's Lacrosse Earns Atlantic 10 Accolades

UNIVERSITY OF RICHMOND, Va. - University of Richmond senior Polly Purcell (Ellicott City, Md.) was named to the Atlantic 10 Women's Lacrosse All-Conference Team as announced today by the league. Purcell, a three-time selection, was the only Spider player honored to the 16-member team.
Starting all 16 games, Purcell led the team in scoring with 39 goals and finished second on the team in assists with 20. Purcell recorded a team-best six hat tricks while scoring in all but three games. She also led the team in both ground balls (57) and caused turnovers (17) and added 21 draw controls.
Purcell ended her career as the program's all-time assist leader (74) and tied the program's high for career points with 196. In addition, she tied Richmond's single-game highs for both points (10) and assists (6) against Saint Joseph's, her final game.
Purcell currently ranks eighth in the nation in ground balls per game (3.56). In conference statistics, she leads the league in ground balls and is sixth in points per game (3.68).
