Lacrosse's Polly Purcell Earns VaSID Honors

UNIVERSITY OF RICHMOND, Va. - University of Richmond senior Polly Purcell (Ellicott City, Md.) was honored to the VaSID Women's Lacrosse All-State second team as announced today by the organization. This marks the second time that the attack has received the honor.
In her senior campaign, she led the team in scoring with 39 goals and added 20 assists for a team-high 59 points. She also paced the team in ground balls (57) and caused turnovers (17) and recorded six hat tricks. In addition, the Atlantic 10 All-Conference honoree ranked eighth in the country in ground balls per game (3.56).
After ending her career as the program's all-time assist leader, Purcell participated in the prestigious IWLCA North/South All-Star game on June 5.
