PHILADELPHIA (AP) - Dwayne Lee had 13 points and Dwayne Jones added 11 points and 15 rebounds Wednesday to lead Saint Joseph's to a 49-36 win over Richmond.
Kevin Steenberge had 15 points to lead Richmond in the lowest-scoring Atlantic 10 game this season. The teams combined for 31 turnovers.
Saint Joseph's (13-9, 10-1 Atlantic 10) opened the game with a 19-6 lead, but saw it slip away and led by only four at the half, 23-19. Richmond (11-12, 6-6) outscored the Hawks 13-4 over the last 11 minutes of the half.
Pat Carroll only had 10 points and shot 2-for-11 from 3-point range, below his 57 percent season average.
It was only the second A-10 contest of the season in which both teams combined for less than 100 points. Massachusetts beat Rhode Island last week, 49-44.
The game was the lowest-scoring in 30 years for Richmond, which lost to the VMI 41-33 on March 4, 1975. It was the first time Saint Joseph's was held under 50 points in seven years. Saint Joseph's lost to Villanova, 61-49, in 1998.
