UNIVERSITY OF RICHMOND, Va. - For the second straight year, University of Richmond senior Kate Flavin (Englewood, Colo.) was named to the VaSID Division I Women's Basketball All-State First Team as announced today by the organization. Flavin was one of just two repeat selections from last year's squad.
Flavin, a 2005 Atlantic 10 All-Conference first team selection, led the Spiders in both scoring (16.8) and rebounding (8.8) this season. She ranked 17th in that nation in field goal percentage (.562) and finished second in the league in both scoring and rebounding. Reaching double-figures in the scoring column in 23 games, Flavin recorded a double-double in 11 contests. The three-time Atlantic 10 Player of the Week finished her Richmond career ranked second in career points (1770) and third in career rebounds (1079).
The Spiders advanced to the NCAA Tournament for the first time in 14 years and earned the program's first-ever at-large berth.
