UNIVERSITY OF RICHMOND, Va. - The University of Richmond women's tennis team will compete in the NCAA Championships this weekend when they face #13-seed North Carolina in Chapel Hill, N.C. on Friday at 10:00 a.m.
The Spiders (14-9) earned the league's automatic berth after capturing their second straight Atlantic 10 title. Richmond's Lindsay Cox was named the conference's Most Outstanding Performer and teammates Courtney Klein, Robin Carter were all named to the All-Conference Team.
North Carolina (20-9) is currently ranked 13th in the country and is the top-seeded team in the Chapel Hill regional. The Tar Heels are making their seventh consecutive appearance in the NCAA Tournament. Two UNC players are nationally-ranked in the Top 50 and two doubles teams are among the Top 50.
This marks the 17th meeting between the two schools with the Tar Heels holding a 14-2 advantage.
