Conrad Earns Weekly Atlantic 10 Field Hockey Honors For Third-Straight Week

UNIVERSITY OF RICHMOND, Va. - Freshman Lindsey Conrad earned a share of her third-straight Atlantic 10 Field Hockey honor, conference officials announced Monday. Conrad, along with UMass' Cher King were named Co-Rookie of the Week winners following their performances this past weekend.
Conrad, who ranks second on the team with 29 total points, scored two goals on the weekend to help the Spiders extend their win streak to six-straight in 2006. The Wilkes-Barre, Pa., native recorded 10 shots, all on goal, in the Spiders' 5-2 win over the UMass Minutewomen Sunday. She put Richmond on the board in the first half with an unassisted goal in the 19th minute, then upped the Spider lead with another tally in the 39th minute. Conrad now ranks tied for second in the league with a point-per-game average of 1.93.
The Spiders hit the road again next weekend when they travel to Philadelphia, Pa., to face Temple and St. Joseph's. Friday, Oct. 20, Richmond will face the Temple Owls at 3:30 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 22, the Spiders will take on the St. Joseph's Hawks at noon.
