
Murphy And Wrublesky Selected To Play In NFHCA Division I Senior All-Star Game

UNIVERSITY OF RICHMOND, Va. - Richmond seniors Jodi Murphy and Heather Wrublesky have been selected to play in the 2006 NFHCA Division I All-Star Game, Nov. 18, at Winston-Salem, N.C. A total of 38 senior field hockey student-athletes, including Richmond's co-captains, will take part in the game featuring some of the top Division I field hockey programs in the nation.
Murphy, a native of Williamsburg, Va., has played in 16 games and recorded a total of seven points on one goal and five assists from her back position. Murphy, who transferred to Richmond after two seasons at Indiana, has scored five goals in her two-year career with the Spiders. She has started 37 games over the past two seasons while notching nine assists for a career total of 19 points.
Wrublesky, a Langhorne, Pa., native has played in a total of 81 games in her four years at Richmond, including 56 starts. The forward has scored 20 goals in her career, with almost half coming this season (9). Her three assists this season have pushed her career total to five; giving her a career total of 45 points just outside the Spiders' all-time Top-10 list.
Murphy and Wrublesky's selection to the All-Star roster marks the second-straight year Richmond has had multiple seniors take part in the postseason competition. Last season, Allie Howard and Michelle La Force represented the Spiders. Jill Murphy (2002), Megan Conway (2000) and Dawn Reyerson (1993) have also represented the Spiders in the All-Star contest.
The All-Star game is scheduled for 7:30 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 18 on the campus of Wake Forest University. The Spiders will closeout the 2006 regular season Sunday, Oct. 29 when they host Saint Louis at noon. Prior the game against the Billikens, Richmond will honor both Murphy and Wrublesky who will be playing in their final regular season home games at Crenshaw Field.
