UNIVERSITY OF RICHMOND, Va. - Sophomore Lauren Beaudreau was named the Atlantic 10 Swimming & Diving Performer of the Week, conference officials announced Monday. Beaudreau won three events during the Spiders' weekend competition against No. 17 Minnesota and No. 22 North Carolina in Chapel Hill, N.C.
Beaudreau turned in a 4:20.33 in the 400 IM to win the event and place her name third on the Richmond all-time Top-10 list in the swim. The mark was also an NCAA b-cut qualifying time. The Lafayette, Calif., native went on to win both the 200 IM (2:04.18) and the 200 breast (2:18.15). Her mark in the 200 IM was just .05 seconds away from another b-cut time. The sophomore then added a third-place showing in the 100 breast with a time of 1:05.96. She also took part in the Spiders' 400 medley relay (3:54.33) and the 800 free relay (7:47.10)
Beaudreau and the Spiders will return to action next Thursday, Nov. 16, when they travel to College Park, Md., to compete in the three-day Terrapin Invitational on the Maryland campus.
