No. 9 Women's Lacrosse Hosts Towson On Sunday

UNIVERSITY OF RICHMOND, Va. - Coming off five-straight wins, the No. 9 University of Richmond women's lacrosse team will look to continue its winning ways on Sunday afternoon as it plays host to Towson University at 3:00 p.m. at First Market Stadium.
The No. 9 Spiders (6-2) are coming off of wins over William and Mary (13-9), Monmouth University (18-5), Mount St. Mary's (15-3), Old Dominion (22-10), and American (10-8). Freshman Mandy Friend currently leads all Spiders with 25 goals, including six hat tricks, followed by senior Caroline McGuire with 22 goals and five hat tricks.
The Tigers are currently 3-4 overall and are coming off a 16-13 victory over Delaware. Led by Shannon Witzel with 26 goals and Becky Trumbo with 16 goals, the Tigers are returning 18 players from last year's squad that posted a 13-6 mark, finishing first in the CAA with a 5-2 record and advanced to the NCAA first round
The Spiders and the Tigers will be meeting for the 12th time in history with Richmond leading the series 6-5 and posting wins in the last two meetings between the two teams.
