UNIVERSITY OF RICHMOND, Va. - The ninth-ranked University of Richmond women's lacrosse team will round out its non-conference schedule on Tuesday afternoon as it plays host to UC Davis at 3:00 p.m. at First Market Stadium. Coming off six straight wins, the Spiders (7-2) will look to continue their winning ways before they enter conference play later this week.
The Spiders are off to their best ever start with consecutive wins over William and Mary, Monmouth University, Mount St. Mary's, Old Dominion, American, and Towson. Freshman Mandy Friend currently leads all Spiders with 25 goals, including six hat tricks, followed by senior Caroline McGuire with 24 goals and five hat tricks.
The Aggies are currently 5-3 overall and are coming off four-straight wins over Long Island, Bucknell, Vermont, and Longwood. Led by Katie McMahon with 35 goals, the Aggies are returning 13 players from last year's squad that posted a 10-9 overall mark and a 2-3 record in the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation.
This will be the first ever meeting between the Aggies and the Spiders.
Following Tuesday's contest, the Spiders will enter Atlantic 10 play on Sunday when they will travel to George Washington for a 1:00 p.m. game. Live coverage for Tuesday's contests will be available at www.RichmondSpiders.com.
