Baptism, basketball memories and a bachelor's degree. Saona Chapman was busy yesterday.
The University of Richmond senior was a basketball standout during her years on campus, scoring more than 1,000 points during her career. But it was her time spent off the court that helped the Connecticut native find her calling.
By tutoring and mentoring students in Richmond's Church Hill neighborhood, organizing food drives and working with her church's youth group, she explored the faith she only discovered as a junior in high school.
