Spiders To Announce New Associate Head Baseball Coach Friday

THE UNIVERSITY OF RICHMOND -- The University of Richmond will hold a press conference to introduce its new Associate Head Baseball Coach, Friday, June 30 at 11 a.m., at Pitt Field. Current Spider head coach Ron Atkins as well as Richmond Athletics Director Jim Miller will be on hand for the announcement, held just beyond the first base dugout and down the rightfield line at Pitt Field.
Atkins, earlier this month, announced his plans to retire following the 2007 season. The new Associate Head Coach will serve on Atkins' staff during the 2007 season, then assume the Richmond head coaching duties following the conclusion of the 2007 season. An official release and quick fact information about the new hire will be made available at the media gathering.
