UNIVERSITY OF RICHMOND, Va. - Richmond Football head coach Dave Clawson and the Spider ticket office recently introduced a new season-ticket campaign tabbed "Clawson's Kids." The campaign is directed to current season-ticket holders as well as Richmond Athletics' corporate sponsors, asking them to purchase additional youth season-tickets to be donated to a charitable organization benefitting underprivileged children.
"I believe this is a great way for the entire Richmond Spider Football family to reach out to our neighbors in the Richmond community," Clawson said of the success the campaign has already seen generating more than 100 youth season-ticket sales prior to Aug. 17.
The Virginia Home for Boys and Girls; Big Brothers, Big Sisters, Inc.; Boys and Girls Clubs of Metro Richmond and Special Olympic Virginia are just some of the organizations which have been chosen to receive the donated youth season-tickets. Those individuals who purchase and donate the $30 season-tickets to one of the organizations will be recognized in the Richmond Football Gameday program passed out, free of charge, at each Spider home football contest at UR Stadium.
"We appreciate the efforts of all Spider fans who allow those less fortunate to enjoy Saturday afternoons at UR Stadium," Clawson said.
