Women's Soccer Drops 2-0 Decision to Princeton

Princeton's Canadian international, Diana Matheson, scored a pair of goals as the Tigers defeated Richmond, 2-0. Matheson's first goal came in the 20th minute when she fired a 25-yard bomb from the right side that sailed over Spider goalkeeper Kate Hudson and into the upper far corner.
The second goal came just 1:06 into the second half when Matheson was sprung by Vicki Anagnostopoulos.
Princeton (1-1-0) outshot Richmond 24-6 and took eight corner kicks to the Spiders' one. Richmond's Hudson registered eight saves in goal, while Maren Dale recorded three saves for the Tigers.
The Spiders (0-5-0) resume tournament action on Sunday at 2:30 p.m. with the Pennsylvania Quakers at Rhodes Field, with Princeton and Hofstra playing the first match, kicking off at noon.
Pennsylvania (1-0-1) played to a 0-0 draw with Rice on Sept. 4 in its season opener and defeated Hofstra 1-0 at the Penn Invitational in Friday's second match.
The Spiders lead the Richmond-Pennsylvania series 1-0 after taking a 4-0 triumph over the Quakers in the JMU/Comfort Inn Classic and will be looking to for their first win of the season on Sunday.
