The Spiders improved to 7-5 with a win over UMBC in the first game of the Terrapin Classic, 64-51. Redshirt senior Christina Campion led Richmond with a career-high 24 points, including a career best six three-pointers. Katie Holzer pulled down 12 rebounds. Richmond will now face host no. 5 Maryland December 29, 2007 for a 2 p.m. ET start.
The Terps have lost only one game heading into Saturday's match-up. They fell to Rutgers 68-60 earlier this
month. The Terps won a National Championship under Coach Frese in 2006 and made an appearance in the
NCAA tournament in 2007. Kristi Toliver leads Maryland averaging 16.9 points per game in their first 15 contests.
Up Next: Richmond returns to the Robins Center to host Notre Dame, Wednesday, January 2 at 7 p.m. ET. The Spiders will look for their fourth straight home win.
