SCOUTING THE SPIDERS: Richmond (10-12, 4-3 in A-10) just earned its second-straight win on Sunday to take a winning mark in the conference. A-10 Rookie of the Week Danielle Bell put in a career-high 17 points after hitting a career-high five treys to lead the Spiders to a 78-68 win over Fordham on Sunday afternoon in Rose Hill Gym, taking their third-straight road win and fifth-straight over the Rams. Freshman Katie Holzer led all Spiders with 18 points, in addition to grabbing seven rebounds. Bell followed with her second-straight double-digit performance and fifth of the season off of 5-of-7 shooting from behind the arch and a perfect 2-2 effort from the free throw line. Sarah Williams finished with 11 points, rounding out the Spiders in double-figures. Christina Campion dominated the boards for the Spiders, pulling eight rebounds.
Campion (10.3 ppg) currently leads the team in scoring as the lone Spider averaging double-digits, while Powell (8.4 ppg), Holzer (8.3 ppg, 5.3 rpg) and Williams (8.1 ppg) round out the Spiders' balanced attack that averages 60.2 ppg. Nikita Thomas (6.0 rpg) leads the team on the boards after pulling double-digit rebounds in five different games.
SCOUTING THE COLONIALS: No. 11/12 George Washington (18-2, 7-0 in A-10) has won its last 11 games, including a seven-point win over the Spiders. Junior Kimberly Beck also had 12 points for the Colonials, who held the Explorers to 12 percent shooting in the first half (3-of-25), its best single-half defensive effort of the season.
