Richmond leaves the Commonwealth of Virginia for the first time in 28 games with a weekend Atlantic 10 series at Duquesne that begins Friday at 4 p.m. Saturday's game is set for a 1 p.m. with the finale slated for noon on Sunday.

The Spiders enter the weekend in second place in the A-10 at 10-2, tied with Xavier. Both teams are a game back of No. 23 Charlotte (30-6, 11-1).

Richmond will be looking to win its fifth A-10 series in as many tries this season.

Senior 2B Benji Marshall is the national leader in hit by pitches per game. The infielder had been plunked 18 times in 30 games entering the week (0.60). Marshall is also riding a team-best eight-game hitting streak.

Junior closer Brian Alas set a new school record by collecting his ninth and 10th saves of the season last weekend against Temple. He currently leads the A-10 and is ranked fifth in the NCAA.

The Spiders are 13-3 this season when hitting a home run. Junior 1B Joe Mahoney leads the team with nine after going yard at VMI on Wednesday night.
