Field Hockey Plays At City-Rival VCU Friday At 7 P.M.

RICHMOND, Va. - The Richmond field hockey team plays at city-rival VCU on Friday night at 7 p.m. and hosts Miami of Ohio on Sunday at noon.

The Spiders are 1-3 in the season with all three losses coming against teams currently ranked in the NFHCA Coaches Poll (No. 12 American, No. 14 Virginia and No. 17 Delaware). Richmond's last two losses, to Virginia and Delaware have both come by just one goal.

VCU is 2-1 entering Friday's game with wins over Fairfield and Georgetown and a 1-0 loss to No. 12 ranked American.

Richmond sophomore Sarah Blythe-Wood leads the team with four goals, coming with two multi-goal games. Sophomore Annie Edwards and freshman Sara Reese also have goals for the Spiders.
