University of Richmond, Va. -
The Richmond women's basketball team is wrapping up its first week of practice and head coach Michael Shafer is pleased with the team's progress thus far.
"The recall from the returners has been excellent," said Shafer. "The freshman have been picking up on things, and the enthusiasm and energy has been very good. I would like to see it continue once we get a couple weeks in."
The Spiders are preparing for the 2008-09 season opener on Nov. 14th, when Kennesaw State comes to the Robins Center. Richmond will play an exhibition game Nov. 4th against DT3 in the Robins Center.
"They have practiced with great effort and good focus," said Shafer. "If the next week moves like this one did, we should be pretty far along in our preparation for this season."
Live coverage, including game tracker and video streaming on SpiderTV, will be available for all home and selected away games.
